Erin Calata is a mezzo-soprano based in the Seattle-Tacoma area.  She is a seasoned soloist, recitalist and chorister, performing a wide variety of genres, with a special interest in Early Music and New Music. 
 
She sings professionally as a freelance vocalist, performing with many ensembles locally and nationally.  She frequently performs with Seattle's Vox16 and the Texas Early Music Project in Austin, and has also sung with the Oregon Bach Festival Berwick Chorus, Bellevue's City Opera Ballet, the Arizona Opera, Scottsdale Choral Artists, Pacific Musicworks, and the Stuttgart Festival Ensemble in Germany.  She was chosen as a 2014 New Young Artist with the Victoria Bach Festival in Victoria, Texas and participated in the American Bach Soloists Academy in 2017.  As a competitor, she has placed as a finalist in the Ladies Musical Club of Seattle Solo Competition and placed 1st in the National Association of Teachers of Singing regional competition in Arizona.  

Beyond professional performing commitments, Mrs. Calata sings with the Pacific Lutheran University Choral Union and directs the Shepherd of the Hill Presbyterian Church choir.  She is an active voice teacher, certified by the National Association of Teachers of Singing, teaching privately and at Pierce College in Puyallup, Washington. She holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance from Pacific Lutheran University and completed her Master of Music degree in Vocal Performance at Arizona State University.
